For years, Canadian Oil and Gas pipeline operators have relied on the guidance of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z662 Standard to ensure the design and operational safety of their pipeline assets. Recently, a new version of the Standard (CSA Z662:23) was published in 2023 with notable changes, particularly in the Annex B section. These changes introduce new guidance on safety and environmental quantitative risk acceptance criteria for pipelines.
