The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is poised to release the final phase of the highly anticipated “Gas Mega Rule”. This final release is of significant interest to the US Pipeline Regulatory environment and, more specifically, the impacts it will have for transmission operators with assets in the US.
PHMSA initially released the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in April 2016 and the comment periods and consultation with the public and industry has been completed. The final rule is currently going through administrative processes and is expected to be released sometime in 2019.
Dynamic Risk’s Technical Director, Curtis Parker, will present key highlights of the proposed rule including:
- Moderate Consequence Areas
- Pipeline Assessments in Non-HCAs
- MAOP Verification
- Material Verification
- Risk Assessment
Please join us on Tuesday, September 24th at 11:00 am CST to learn more about the impacts of these regulations for transmission operators and best practices to stay compliant.
